Hôtel MGallery
A project that is firmly anchored in its location, an encounter with a country, a distant land untouched by Western influence. Female artisans from local markets were commissioned to create a wall using the traditional craft of plaited palm leaves. Ceilings consist of rope strung on wooden frames. The interior’s largely sandy tones recall the local desert landscapes, while an intriguing interplay of textures lends the décor a distinctly organic quality. As in many of the studio’s projects, the presence of art-like installations energizes the whole, a bulbous mirrored Murano glass ceiling and a dynamic wall sculpture made with cotton trim.
