Goldman Sachs Headquarters

A project housed in a building close to the Arc de Triomphe refurbished by Dominique Perrault Architecture, which houses the French headquarters of Goldman Sachs. The studio worked in close collaboration with Perrault in order to create a cohesive dialogue between the exterior and interior. Stretching over two floors, its intervention consists of a 200-seat auditorium, a business centre with hi-tech meeting rooms, and a bar lounge that can be adapted for a multitude of uses, such as brainstorming sessions, micro-meetings, pitches and projections. Natural light floods in from a central patio, while rhythmical vertical lines mimic those of the façade. An inky blue palette dominates, a mirrored ceiling above the main staircase fabricated by Agency DPA provides intriguing, distorted reflections, and informal furniture arrangements allow employees to make each seating area their own. The auditorium, meanwhile, is wrapped in wood in patterns that recall the art of origami, creating an arresting visual effect.
