Café 151
A project that boasts a prestigious location directly opposite the Louvre Museum, and in a stately building that now houses La Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain. The café was conceived as a space where the building’s occupants can invite external guests to share a quiet moment in a hushed and historic environment. The goal was thus to create a convivial ambience that favours discussion and interaction, with the presence of art as a central focus. The studio chose to work with curator Amélie du Chalard, selecting the work of artists such as Jean Duruisseau and Delphine de Luppé. The use of wood and felt provides warmth, while the glass partitions in the corridor and three conference rooms are fitted with fluted glass, which gently diffuses the light. Their graphic metal frames are yet another reference to art; this time to the geometric, grid-like works of Mondrian.
